The Lonesome CowpokeTrading Cards
An expanding series of illustrations telling the story of a cowboy and his adventures across the world
The characters walk the line between fantasy and reality,
blending retro cowboy/western styles with sci-fi and mystical elements.
After spending most of his life in Val’traz, a small farm town tucked deep into the redwood forest, the Cowpoke is forced to leave and begin a grand adventure around the world.
Along the way, he and his bird will encounter friends, foes, creatures, critters, strange places, and whatever else the trail decides to throw at ’em.
The Cowpoke - The Raven
The Cowpoke is the main character of the story. He began working young as a ranch-hand for The Bat, until one day a conflict arose between the two, leading to the Cowpoke gaining his iconic scar and his first kill in the same night.
Hue Tal’k - The Mole
Hue Tal’k is the sheriff of The Cowpoke’s hometown Val’traz. He and The Cowpoke have a rocky relationship - partially due to the amount of times Hue has arrested the cowboy, and partially due to the fact that The Cowpoke is madly in love with the sheriff’s daughter, Bermuda.
Bermuda is The Cowpoke’s most difficult goodbye. After the Bat died, Bermuda began spending more time on the ranch. She is the primary nurse and veterinarian of Val’traz, and took care of the Crow’s wife until her passing. She and the Cowpoke were set to be married until her father denied the cowboy his blessing and Bermuda called the wedding off.
“I’m lonesome but happy,
rich but I’m broke,
the good Lord knows the reason,
I’m just a cowpoke.” - Colter Wall
