Life Beginning

A gift for my older sister, commemorating a series of life changes and the initial stages of a new era of her life.

Every section of the painting is a new path to explore; fireflies enticing you to explore the bamboo woods they abide in, a safe shelter to stay out of the sun, an open field of flowers leading to the base of a plum tree.

No matter what path you decide to take, it will lead to skies of pink and yellow.

My Sun is Setting

Illustration representing Alzheimer’s and the loss of memory with old age

The man walks through the wasteland of his memories,

watching himself and those he used to know begin to fragment,

until they are no more than indistinguishable rocks,

growing darker as the sun of his life sets.
